Nobody is Perfect But.....

"Nobody's perfect, baby. Nobody's perfect, baby..."
That is the chorus to a popular song most of have heard countless times. A popular song that is based on a prevalent belief, which has its basis in the Holy Bible.
None but the Lord is perfect.
In today's society most have taken this sentiment to heart and have un-bashfully used and abused it to suit their purposes. For many the "nobody's perfect" sentiment provides a convenient cop-out; a means to rationalize inappropriate behavior or speech.                                                                                 The adulterer asserts: Nobody's perfect, in defense of his/her sin. The executive who bilks people out of millions of dollars in a scheme cries it when he gets caught and is facing prosecution. Likewise, the liar will repeat it whenever he/she is caught in one of their tall tales.  "Nobody's perfect, baby...   Taken too literally, this sentiment precludes growth. We are told that we are not perfect,so why try, right?
  Wrong.
We are supposed to strive for perfection, excellence.
We all are going to makes mistakes;fall down on our faces from time to time, however our knowledge of our own imperfection should not give cause to stay down. A reason to remain steeped in unsavory behavior.
So many people do a disservice to themselves by not only accepting imperfection, but wearing it as some sort of badge of honor. Our knowledge of imperfection is not a license to act uncivilized.
We all are given the innate ability to distinguish between right and wrong;most of us just make a conscious decision to choose to partake in the latter.

Nobody's perfect. However our behavior does not have to reflect this imperfection.
